We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join our team at Ash Tree Vets for a Maternity Leave Cover role, starting March 2025, on a fixed term contract for 10-12 months.

We have a fantastic, established team, with a broad depth of clinical experience, supported by a wonderful RVN and Front of House Team. Our Vet Team is a mix of full and part time individuals, all with a variety of interests.

Our branches in Market Harborough, Kibworth and Desborough are RCVS and Cat Friendly accredited. We have also achieved silver investors in the environment accreditation for our sustainability efforts.

We are passionate about community, team wellbeing and providing excellent care to our patients.

About You:

The right candidate will have excellent clinical and communication skills, to help provide an exceptional service to our loyal customer base.

You will be required to cover both consults and surgery (competence is needed in all routine surgeries, dentistry and basic imaging as a minimum).

The Role:

You will be working at any of our 3 sites; two of which have full surgical facilities including theatre/imaging/dental x-ray. A smaller branch site will require sole charge work, but you will always have a supportive receptionist and at times an RVN on hand.

Our new purpose-built site has a physio suite and bereavement room. Our consults are 15minutes, with extended consults for complex cases/second opinions.

The role is to work a minimum of 3 days per week, between the hours of 8am-7pm dependent on shift, with inpatient duties and some weekend work on a shared rota (we are open on a Saturday for non-routine work.) We do not do out of hours but do take care of non-critical hospital patients.

**There is scope for flexibility within the role and we are happy to discuss all offers and options, including more days per week for blocks of work.

The Area:

Located in beautiful Leicestershire, East Midlands our branches are all within a short drive from each other. They are easily accessible for a candidate working across our multi-sites, all just off the A6 and only a short drive away from all the amenities that Leicester has to offer.

Market Harborough itself is a charming market town full of history, culture, delicious food and independent retailers – named one of the best places to live in the country according to The Sunday Times in 2023!

** A car will be essential for travel between sites.

(No accommodation is available)

The Role:

As an RVN at Ash Tree Vets, you will be working from our RCVS accredited, multi-site, small animal practice in Leicestershire.

There is a rota for inpatient stand-by duties, in the rare event that the vet needs assistance with an inpatient on evenings or weekends. We have a varied and large case load meaning all areas of your skills can be utilised!
